From the inception of the American Eagle Program in 1986, the Silver American Eagle was an instant success. It has achieved legendary status, becoming the most popular silver coin in the world. 2020 marks the 34th and last year of the iconic design. Next year we will see a new design from the US mint.
In 2002 The American Eagle program was enjoying wild success. That year the US Mint struck over 10 million Silver Eagles(10,539,026) Of these PCGS has only graded 1730 coins perfect mint state 70.
The population of 1730 coins is a very small number in fact its just over one tenth of one percent!
The coins we have found are actually signed by US Mint Master artist Thomas Cleveland. This signature takes the population down to 65 pieces.
PCGS online price guide list the 2002 SAE in MS70 at $600 each. This price DOES NOT reflect the Cleveland signature.
