His tenure has successfully seen hundreds of millions of dollars in transactions. He has handled many of the rarest United States coins and medals produced throughout the past 250 years, plus many ancient and foreign rarities as well. His consulting career contributed to several award winning books on United States pre-1933 gold coins.

Owner & President
Byronn Garrett is the owner and President of American Rare Coin & Bullion, a trusted rare coin and bullion dealer based in Beaumont, Texas. Originally from Sour Lake, Texas, the birthplace of Texaco Oil Company, Byronn has over 20 years of experience in the precious metals industry. His passion for history, finance, and collecting led him to establish the business in 2008 as an inbound call center in his hometown. In 2021, he relocated the business to Beaumont, Texas, expanding it into a full-service storefront and call center to better serve collectors and investors with expertise and integrity.
Outside of work, Byronn loves spending time with his wife and son and enjoys a variety of hobbies, including classic cars, boating with friends, and smoking a good brisket on the BBQ pit. Whether he’s out on the water, restoring a classic ride, or grilling up a feast, he appreciates quality time with family and friends. With a strong commitment to customer service and a deep knowledge of numismatics, Byronn continues to build lasting relationships with clients while contributing to the rare coin and bullion community.
Trey Cox
CEO & Chief Numismatist

With over 32 years of experience as a professional coin dealer, Trey Cox has built a distinguished career in the numismatic industry. His passion for coins began at an early age, collecting alongside his father, with a particular fascination for silver dollars and U.S. gold coins. Over the years, Trey has handled many of the rarest United States coins and medals produced in the past two centuries, as well as many ancient and foreign rarities. Bringing deep historical knowledge and market expertise to collectors and investors alike.
As a respected consultant, Trey has contributed to several award-winning books on pre-1933 U.S. gold coins, further solidifying his reputation as a trusted authority in the field.
Beyond numismatics, Trey is an avid outdoorsman, competitive shooter, and proud NRA member. He has dedicated over a decade to coaching his three daughters in competitive soccer, instilling values of discipline and teamwork. His commitment to his community is equally strong—he has served as Chairman and Vice Chair of the Chris Gafford Memorial Fund, a local charity that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support disabled veterans.
At American Rare Coin & Bullion, Trey has been instrumental in developing the Market Maker Program, establishing a two-way market for recommended rare coins. Throughout his career, he has facilitated transactions totaling hundreds of millions of dollars, providing collectors and investors with expert guidance and fair market opportunities.
