The $10 Liberty Gold Eagle, also known as the Liberty Head or Coronet Eagle, was issued by the United States Mint from 1838 through 1907. Designed by Christian Gobrecht, the coin features a left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a coronet on the obverse and a heraldic eagle holding arrows and an olive branch on the reverse. Each coin weighs approximately 16.72 grams, is composed of 90% gold, and contains about 0.48375 troy ounce of pure gold. In 1866, the reverse design was updated to include the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
