With only 34,200 coins struck it boast the lowest mintage figure of any business strike half eagle in the entire series, making it the key date king of the $5 Indians.
Looking at the population reports you will notice that even though the 1909-O is known in most all grades it is almost never available for sale as they are snapped up by collectors and investor alike. Please keep in mind, with a coin that is as numismatically significant many regrades are likely out there causing gradeflation throughout all grades.
